Let's be honest. United were very poor. I now understand why Tonge gets so much stick. The idea that they might even have a remote chance of making the playoffs is almost comical. Having said that, our lack of a natural goalscorer is making me fear the worst. A trip to Wembley will not compensate for a return to the alehouse league.

You have indeed. Still doesn't make you a good side though. In my view we simply lack a natural goalscorer. There is very little between the teams in this division and we have generally more than held our own. We have been unable to pinch games though in the way, arguably, United did today. Never seen a more stonewall penalty in my life than the one we should have had at the end of the first half. A draw would have probably more accurately reflected the game overall.

so you should do us twice. you were in the premier league last season and are still getting the parachute payments which is probably £20million. the point dodeth tyke makes still stands. its a poor division and you are mid table with no hopes of going up. sad but true.

How a club with £20 million parachute payments and 25,000 gates can get excited about beating Barnsley is a bit surprising, especially when the game could have gone either way and if the ref had turned up our way.

If I were them I would be worried about their long term financial future once the parachute payments have run out. Wage bill must be too high and a clear out will be on the cards. Could be another Wednesday in a couple of seasons.
