I bet he's Davey's first name on the team sheet. Now mullers back it should be a tight defence.

Just check the thread where people are picking their team for tomorrow

See how many times he is included.

    That may answer your question.

Tight defence? I'm still not convinced about our defence, i would like to see Nyatanga back to try to inject a bit of pace that we lack at the moment. The teams that we have played this season have overwhelmed us with their pace and movement. Moore and Souza will win most things in the air but are plainly lacking in pace.

We can talk all day, but it comes down to the managers tactics and his game plan. None seems to be working at the moment, but has a Davey fan we have to give the man time to respond to the criticism he has had over the last few weeks. Players coming back, jet lag, international games, injuries and suspentions. Now our Manager has a fit squad and the next 5 games the fans will judge the Barnsley Manager on his overhaul running of the club and the results.
We at Barnsley have some very fickle fans, and if in the next few weeks results don't go our way then the noose will be out and poor old Simon will be standing on the trap door

The abuse at southampton was uncalled for

Especially the pillock with the Davey out banner. Yeh i know he was only expressing his opinions but at the end of the day it doesn't help the players.

Moore looked solid last week one thing stuck in my mind but that was the bounce of the ball1!

You say it does not help the players, but how does it hinder them?

Did he make them carry it around all match?
Its only like the advertising hoardings at the side of the pitch, its just words on a banner .

I cant see how it could have made the players play any different, is it the fault of that bloke we did not have a single shot on target? Or that KO was stuck on his own miles away from the rest of the team? Or that Simon Davey did not in any way try to win the match, just tried not to lose?

I blame the man with the banner myself.

The majority of the players are Daveys players. He is the Manager (unfortunatley) and when the players see fans turning of their manager it isn't going to help.

What difference with the fans turning on the players to the Manager ?

If you honestly believe that Nyatanga would add pace to this defence, you have a serious problem. Just bear in mind, Moore kept Nyatanga out of the Derby team for the past two seasons.

But Nyatanga was/is a young player being eased into the game, Moore was experienced but aging and looks past his best now.

And IMHO is still a better bet than Nyatanga, who although he is young, has no more pace than Moore or Souza and if he doesn't have it now he wont have it later.
