1st half Barnsley were 2nd best by far and Gillingham were walking through the defence with ease but couldn't finish. If I remember correctly Colgan made 1 good save, Tonge 2 good clearances.

Late on in first half shuker scored a lovely goal with a little dribble down right and a low shot across the keeper into the bottom corner of the nets.

Even later in first half (from their restart) Hayes got the ball on right hand corner of penalty box and executed an inch perfect lob over their keeper.

Second half we were much better and and probably edged it. Goal came from a Nardi free kick in Robbie Williams territory which he sent into the top corner. (despite Robbie's best efforts to get the ball off Nardi).

We had 2 other good chances late on , one which fell to Nardiello after some good play down the left, the other to Richards but both strikers made a hash of the finish.

Overall 3-0 flattered us, a draw or 1-0 would have been fairer but how many times have we come away after another defeat saying "we were the better team". I'm struggling to think of a man of the match as no-one really stood out, would probably go shuker or hayes for their goals alone.

PS plenty of petrol on the motorways !!!

    You're right...

There was plenty of petrol on the motorway. We filled up when we got near home. 98 pence a litre though.

We did ride our luck at times in the first half but played with a lot of commitment. I voted for Hayes as my MOTM but could have gone for Reid or Shuker.
