What Flicker has achieved so far is absolutely massive. I said a week or two back though, my fear is that we will suffer burnout. The loss - for various reasons - of Dawson, Stones and Golbourne is hitting us very hard. The first half display today was nothing like the turbo-charged efforts we've seen since New Year's Day. It effectively lost us the game. The back three looked very thin, and to say we put five across the midfield, we were very lacking in presence. I fail to understand why we didn't start Harewood when we must have known what a set of big bu ggers Bolton were. It needed a Mellis in there too. In the absence of Dawson, I'd even say that we'd have been better off with Sir Bobby in midfield to add some bite. What's happening now is that we're waiting for the Flicker second stage rocket to fire. Burnley will be tough, and let's face it, our best hope next Saturday is if City declare. Whatever happens now, I'll take my hat off to Flicker, but I'm becoming afraid that the Management's stance from Robins' parting onwards, and their dilatoriness in not offloading Wrecking Ball sooner is going to cost us this season.
Agreed. Too early for knee-jerk reactions, and I have faith in Flicker. I just hope he does have a plan b. At the moment it feels like he's struggling to adapt to life after stones & goldie...not convinced we have the players to continue with 3-5-2
We need more bite in midfield, Ethu not the answer need Dawson back in. Back to old set up just need Golborne replacing. Play team that has done the winning in two halves with Scotland in second. Dawson will be in on Tuesday. We need Stonesy back in on loan
