Bloke from their Response team in the blue jacket "buried" under a pile of Barnsley fans and players. Absolutely hilarious.!
A few things I noticed, first it was nice play by Cavare coming inside and making a nice pass, second, the little give and go by Adebeyajo took the marking player a yard or so deeper which probably stopped him getting a better block on the first shot and lastly a lovely pull back by Mowatt. Although we'd have preferred to play well and win easily in a funny way it was mentally a much better way to win when you're not playing well.
Haven't seen anyone mention that it was clear handball and should have been a penalty had Brown not got the rebound in. Not that it matters like. Here's how the goal looked in the stand .......
Where was the handball? I read yesterday a couple of Mackems saying there was 'about 3' during the build up. But where?
There was one definite one where Browns first shot hit the defenders arm, blocking a goal bound shot. There is one possible one when the ball bounced back and hit Brown on the chest and may have touched his arm as well. Hard to tell even in slow motion no idea what the third was. Neither was deliberate though the defender clearly stopped a goal bound shot. Would have been a harsh penalty and even more harsh to disallow the goal and not give the pen. Not one person appealed for the handball. Even if that goal had been scored against us. I wouldn’t be criticising any officials as I think they got it right.
The Walsall player making the initial block with his arm on the ground before it goes back to Brown to finish. It was so frantic and the ball went straight back to us, which explains why the players didn’t appeal, plus it was hard to spot. Clear as day on the Sky replay though
‘And they get very fortunate’ Do we **** Lee Hendrie - it was excellent control composure and anticipation from Jacob Brown to knock the rebound in. What a bell
