I have had to sit in the 'home' end v sheff w and Leeds in the past and vowed that I would never do it again. Unfortunately, I had the same fate today.

All in all, it is a good point today. A goal down with 5 mins left, it has to be a good point but it should have been very different. We took the lead against the run of play with a flakey goal. It was a nothing game before that, with Donny having a bit more possession.

They then sprung into life and should have had a penalty. The hapless d'urso got in the way of the ball in comedy fashion and then for the resulting rebound, missed one of the most stonewall pens I have ever seen against us. He missed it because he was sort of tangled up with the ball. We broke down the other end with rigby who looked to labour toward their goal and we somehow cocked up a three on two situation. Digby was too indecisive which meant Jennings and I think ogrady went offside. Ball in net but rightly disallowed. A really important miss because they wouldn't have caught us if we'd have takn this chance.

We then defended well and generally did ok. Cranie scored from a corner. It was very clearly a legitimate goal but the ref disallowed it to even up his earlier mistake. This kind of ineptitude could cost us.

They were running out if ideas until Steele gifted them a goal from a nothing cross. Gutting really.

Second half they came at us at a million miles an hour. Our half time team talk didn't work and they scored deservedly.

After that it was all barnsley. We did well. I'm pretty sure our goal came from Jim nicking the ball from one of their players in the middle. Jim was great. Barnsley football club means something to Jim. He isn't the most talented player we have but he is the kind of player you need in a relegation scrap. We dominated because we went back to 442. 451 with ogrady on the wing doesn't work. We should be more positive in my opinion.

All to play for. It's going to be 3 down from 4 I think with perhaps one more to get dragged in. I think we can do it - we are slowly and steadily improving.

    Get behind em. You reds.

Excellent report, thanks a lot :)

Why do you keep ending up in the home end?

Does seem strange, none of the games mentioned were sold out...can't think of anything worse, having to sit in the middle of the home team's goal celebrations and then try not to do anything when Barnsley score?

No mate, everyone was sound. I declared my interest pre match.

Nearly got lamped at sheff w by some nutter with an owl tattooed to his forehead but Leeds was corporate so not too bad.

Generally wouldn't recommend it, especially after having had a few beers.
