Sorry to post it a little late but I'd just like to make a few points... Scott Hogan was excellent, ran at every man and caused Crewe problems all night long. Would be worth a 1 year deal I'm sure, reminded me a lot of Adam Hammill...cuts in from the right, takes the defender on and drills a shot at goal. Sonko was steady, didn't put a foot wrong but didn't do anything eye catching...the perfect centre half some might say, cleared the ball swell rather than trying to take a man on before trying to make the perfect pass which at times faulted us last season. Reuben well, that's easy...he's not a left back and never will be. Alnwick was steady and commanded his area very well and is very vocal, KH has found a very good keeper to rival Luke Steele...pulled off a wonder save in the second half. Other than that the young lads played well, nice pieces of passing play but I'll say it again before a few on here jump down my throat...the result means nothing, onwards and upwards! See you all at Rochdale!
Thanks mate, let's hope there is some good news about signings very soon. There was a post last night about RNL playing at left back; I think most knew he wasn't a left back and questioned the wisdom of playing him there.
Hopefully mate! Think it's fairly obvious we need a striker as a matter of urgency for the game at rochdale...I'm a Davies fan, but I believe he's at his best with a strike partner, rather than 5 midfielders s,assign a hopeful ball over his head. RNL showed some good touches when going forward, overlapped very well and looked dangerous...I'm not having a say on his defending, because he's not a defender and to be fair it's arguably the strangest position I could think of throwing in a 5"8 winger come striker? Still think he can be a big player for us, just in the right position!
Ah some positively. Heard Sonko lucky to not give away a pen when red judged to be outside box but all in all that report makes me feel better!
My god don't say that. You'll give some on here a heart attack with your positivity about a player that hasn't played 250+ games in the Premier League.
I did think that myself when I first posted this! Let's give the lad a go, sure leeds fans had doubts over signing Jermaine Beckford from maidenhead...he didn't do too badly did he?
He can't want all that much cash. He's surely worth a punt on very little a week for at least 6 months to play some reserve football/be around/train with the first team. If it hasn't worked out after that just let him go.
