Just phoned Virgin and they want &pound;99 to 'raise' my cable box by 1 foot up the wall so I can fit a step in. Anyone any ideas/numbers for people who might be able to do it for less please? Thanks</p>

tell them that you will just brick over the Barsteward and then when they come out to fix it when its broke you will quote them £99 to remove the step.

kick it off the wall and then phone them to ask if they can come and repair the damage done, when they arrive to repair it ask them to place it a little further up the wall.

They will still charge you, no way of getting out of it

Virgin are a business and not a charity

I ripped mine off the wall and chopped the cable

I never asked them to put it there so they can bugger off. Cut the cable right at the level of the concrete it protruded from so they'll have a job putting it back.

    yep

keep on giving the cable a good tug until you see the cabinet on the street moving.

    :)

It needs doing reight or you might end up with a dodgy connection.

Keep your eye out for a virgin media van and give the dude a few quid to move it for you.

Otherwise use a TV Arial company.
