Could be a nice little ground when it's finished except that it never will be so don't expect too much. Halifax Rugby League Club have been told they won't be promoted even if they ware eligible at the end of the seadson as the ground doesn't meet Super League requirements! The main stand has been a disused building site for about 2 years now! The ends behind the goals are probabley the best bits. Parking is wherever you can find it but you can park on the Glynweb car park across the road for a small fee. It's a short walk to the town centre with loads of decent pubs plus on on the corner of the ground, abit small but you can stand out side, and the Weavers at the back of the Main Stand. This has been a public service announcement. See you there!
First time I went to the Shay about 1962 before they introduced speedway, there were bushes behind the goals and several fans took shelter when it started raining.
"doesn't meet Super League requirements" Must be bad then having been to an office "away day" today at Odsal Stadium, Bradford! What a dump!
RE: "doesn't meet Super League requirements" Not enough seats, believe it or not. The main stand is basically out of bounds as it's still a steel frame with scaffolding.
RE: Pubs not far Recommend both pubs though 3 Pidgeons shades it for the Ossett Brewery beers over the Timmy Tayloes at the Pump Room - not far from each other....though I ain't going to the game so meet where you like!
RE: Pubs not far Sorry I forgot, you only work in Halifax whereas I have the dubious priveledge of actually living there!
RE: Pubs not far It's not that bad really. I've only lived here for 29 years but I tink I could get to like it!ff
RE: Pubs not far Harry what time are you meeting and where as myself and little chop are going and what about Bradford are you going?
