I'm absolutly pissed off with the fact that the stewards were so inept that they stood by and watched an handful of fans walk onto the pitch after the game. Not only did they let this happen but one fan in particular spent a long time on the pitch stood in front of the sky TV camera that was trying to get a close up on our players. They also lowered their cordon in the ponty end to allow a small number of fans to step over it which was actively encouraging them to do so.

Please vote if you would like the club to investigate the stewarding with a view to finding out whether or not they are fit to continue their important job of crowd control next season.

in all honesty i couldn't care less, if it was like bradford then yes but a handful of fans (mostly young) running on the pitch is not the end of the world!

if you ask me it is just another reason for our fans to moan!

This vote is like one of those tin pot dictatorships...

....that's being forced to try democracy. So the vote is 'investigate the stewarding' or 'investigate the stewarding'. Think we know what the answer is going to be.

Wouldn't 'yes', 'no', 'don't care' have been a better shout ?

    the following reasons

    1. it cost the club thousands of pounds. (those police horses dont come cheap)
    2. it stopped the players coming back on to the pitch for a lap of honour
    3. it gave out a bad image on sky
    4. it is against the law
    5. if the stewards cant stop a handful of people from walking on to the pitch then do you really trust them with your safety?

What exactly did the police do to earn their match fee?

Aren't they are the ones in charge of match security. Clearly they were told not to confront any individuals who strayed onto the pitch.

As I said befor, the match commanders report does not look too good if there are multiple arrests. It is makes it look as though he was not in control.

    no

because it isnt a poll as such, consider it more of a petition than a poll. you sign a petition if you agree with it and that is what i am asking people to do with this 'poll'. Tick the box if you agree with the statement, dont if you dont. The % of people that tick isnt important, it is the numbers that do that is.

The entire 'operation' was a shambles

We looked bloody great on sky didnt we when we had to have half of the riot police in the north of england make an iron curtain in front of a stand and then needed a wall of police horses too.

The policing/stewarding at oakwell is a joke and its about time that it was investigated with a view to finding an alternative company or at the very least to learn from the mistakes but it seems that we never do.

    Then you're right it's a petition

But it won't tell you if the majority agree with it or not.

    neither does any petition

if 100 customers think that the people in charge of their safety are inept and all voice the same concern then to me that would be enough to do an investigation regardless of how many people are happy with the situation.

RE: The entire 'operation' was a shambles

not been funny but i have watch loads of games where horse have been on the pitch all of which have been on Sky!

ever thought it could have been a extra precaution to stop hudderfields fans as well, cos it is the first time in a long time that they have had that many armed police in front of the away end!

there were just as many riot police there last week as well

to stop the bradford fans who made no attempt to get onto the pitch.

and the police horses were facing the wrong way if they were there to stop huddersfield fans.

again, the stewards were stood less than 10 yards from the incident and did nothing

and yes it will no doubt be i nthe referees report.

I thought that the ref was average, for example their goalkeeper should have been booked for time wasting very early in the second half but the referee didnt even speak ti him when he kept doing it.
