I have an android box as previously mentioned.

    I have fixed that issue...

    How is a different matter.

Now I want to look at hiding/masking my ip so I can abuse American TV.

I understand the principle of a VPN but how would I get it to work from android box/laptop via my router?

And is there a decent freebie to abuse?

Try IPVanish. If you're wanting to mask your IP, fair enough. But you don't actually need VPN, to access the content. You'll probably find the free services aren't much use, as they have data caps on them. IPVanish is $10/mth

Have a look here , ive used thes for years , one of the very few that dont log your traffic , remember the " Hidemyass VPN " a few years ago , when they turned over all their customer browsing logs to the authorities ??.

Take a look in the forums as well, youll soon realise that masking your i.p. address DOES NOT make you invisible / anonymous on the net. Theres a bit more to it.
