Poor decision on Bobby. Not even afforded a proper send off in his last game Fcukin $hit treatment of a club legend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Get over it He has been paid by the club for ten years Good servant but some of the drama that is posted on here about him is over the top I hope his testimonial goes well and he finds another club
He'd have been better off leaving two years ago and having a couple of excellent playing years at a Chesterfield/Rotherham/Huddersfield/S****horpe etc. Instead, due to his age and inactivity I'd be surprised if he could sustain another full season without injuries etc. Really hope he picks up a playing deal in Lge 2 and does well. Been treated awfully, basically only kept as a way to appease the fans who rightly wanted him in the team more often.
Bobby has been more consistent and reliable than any other player when called upon the fact he couldn't get in the team in front of cywfca, Dawson, etuhu, kennedy etc is both a mystery and dissapointment. Wrong decision imo Danny especially with others set to leave I:e CO'G Steele Jennings etc.guttted for Bobby.
Yet we're stuck with Tom fcukin Kennedy. Just to add insult to injury. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Where does it say his time at the club won't be recognised with a testimonial? from what I gather, it was a part of his last contract. He's just not been offered a new contract as a professional player. Bobby may feel he still has a future as a player elsewhere, which is a fair assumption to make. It's no surprise he hasn't been offered a new contract is it really.
Got to disagree with most of you, in my opinion letting bobby go is the correct decision. To be honest he should have gone two years ago. Good player but not a great player however I will agree that he's been a great servant to the club but if he was as good as some of you think he wouldn't have been at Barnsley for ten years.
Opening this up for a bit of a shoeing I guess but, IMO BH was only granted a contract last year to appease the fans and was I imagine a political decision. There has to be some substance in 4 managers not choosing to play him regularly. Now I don't know BH or have any insight into the goings on at the club but who's to say that he was not a devisive influence. Who's to say he didn't use his influence with certain newspaper reporters to create negativity. My experience at work is that it doesn't take long for people to see what the group dynamic is so there may be something there. Similar with Nyatanga I'm guessing - similar issues as I remember at Bristol last season? As for TK well there's not much to say except he's under contract - lumbered I'm afraid so no point blaming Wilson for that one. Finally, if the losing mentality is to be removed then unfortunately, although possibly one of the better performers, BH has been part of a struggling squad for 8 years so probably the right call. Time will tell on those under contract as to whether they will stay or not but this frees up a couple of grand per week in wages. UTR
I can see where you're coming from. But all i've seen is an incredible professional who's never flounced once. Whenever he's been dropped, he's kept his mouth shut, his head down and gradually worked his way back into the squad. We've consistently looked worse off without him, and routinely looked stronger with him. I think it's a poor decision to let him go. But hey. It happens.
But would you say that Bobby and the team in general performed better when he was playing in certain other payers roles?. Imo yes they/he has so a football decision imo would have been to put him in the team when fit in front of the heartless, clueless indifferent slobs he as pyed
I can see both points (Marlon & Tomfun) and as I say, it's only an opinion and not based on any facts but just seems strange for the very reasons you quote that he couldn't get a game. It's almost as if the managers were trying to make a point about who is in charge?? I guess you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Time will tell
Can see where you are coming from and a valid point but my point is that the position we were in when Danny came was no time to be making those sort of decisions football decsions and what was best to keep us up should ave been top of the agenda. Managerial statements should come close season.
Agreed. He should have gone two or three years ago. One of the most over rated full backs I have ever seen in over 50 years as a reds supporter. No more "Sir Bobby", tfft.
He has been payed very well by the club on a contract basis for 10 years. He is now out of contract like thousands of other people are every year. Welcome to the real world. It's tough out there. He should have been moved on by the Rochdale Cowboy and saved the club a bob or too.
That's what you see tf because that's the reality. He should have been one of our CBs for the last 5 or 6 years.
