Just out of interest, what do people think our wage bill is as a percentage of our turnover??

60-70% at a very rough estimate.

I'd have thought maybe a little higher but I have nothing to base it on, just a guess.

On second thoughts I think you are probably right. If it was only 60-70% we would surely have money spare, but we don't.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the region of 80% maybe a bit more. Which doesn't leave a lot for transfer, signing on and agent fees. Makes you think - we really must be run on a shoestring and we can't afford to be throwing revenue away. I wonder how much we will lose on tickets for the Hull game. Probably in the region of £25k if they bring 1,500.

Thing is Hill is doing a good job of getting the wage bill down but revenue is falling too. If I had to take a stab at a figure I'd say around the 80 - 85% mark. What we have left forms the transfer budget.

Makes you wonder how much we'll lose by having 16 Category A games and getting people out of the habit of going to the match.

Obviously not real fans but still.

That's the worrying bit. If crowds keep falling we'll struggle more and more. I worry about the Cat A policy but if people dont come back when prices are reduced and crowds remain roughly the same there is little incentive for the club to make big long term changes.

Whilst the CAT pricing is obscene and off-putting to supporters, may I remind you all that we are 1500 fans down on last year. However, despite said obscene prices, the pay-on-the-gate support hasn't really changed. We get between 1000 to 1500.
The missing 1500 fans were lost in the summer, as they chose not to renew their season tickets... and they are great value. So yes, the matchday pricing is obscene, but isnt having much effect - so far.
Lets hope we continue to perform well for 2 more months at least and those lost ST holders purchase a half ST at Xmas.

Aren't the accounts available for public viewing each year? So l think a lot of people will have a clue.

I think we will be paying out the whole amount of our income in wages, well maybe a bit less, 95%

I assume they are paying £23 rather than £30 so we will be £7 down on every ticket they buy so you have to include them
    in the calculations surely.

Its only £23 if you buy a Bristol Ticket at thirty quid so cant see many Hull fans doing that even if they were given the opportunity.

the club should sell half season tickets in the summer too, just to spread the cost a little more, in the times we live in its a struggle for quite a few people, if they where to do the 3 monthly payments at £55 a month in may june & july then again in september october and november it would get a few more in i'm sure

Good idea that. Therefore it will go WOOOOOSH, straight over their heads.
I save about a tenner a week over the year, which renews my seat. So Im not affected by half these topics, but as a fan, I want as full a ground as possible. Upsets me seeing Oakwell 2 thirds empty..
