    1) We don't know what Colgan is wanting. But it has been posted that many of the first-team players will have it written in their contracts that if someone gets a higher wage, they go onto that wage automatically. So offering Colgan over the odds, could have a disastrous effect on the wage bill.

And last week Shuker was set to leave, but now it looks like he's staying. Let's wait and see with Colgan, before we start apportioning blame.

    2) Colgan had a fine season last year. He proved me and many on here wrong with some excellent performances. I would be sorry to see him go. But we can replace him, I have no doubt about that. No player is bigger than the club.

    3) I don't know what the amounts being offered to players are. Some are saying that they are less than last season. Well didn't we have the second highest wage bill in the First Division last year? It would be interesting to see how it compared with wages in the Championship.

    4) Finally, and I know I could get some stick for this, I can't believe that we don't have some players lined up to come. Many have said, "Wait for the begining of July". I think that would be a good thing to do. Let's keep our nerve and see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

There's plenty of time to panic before the season starts.

In hindsight i bet Mr.Shepherd wishes he could have put season ticket prices up to help with the contracts. We always seem to be skint.
