Ipswich's Alex Bruce and Derby keeper Stephen Bywater have had appeals against red cards upheld - but now face new Football Association charges.

The pair were sent off after squaring up to each other in Ipswich's 2-1 win at Portman Road on Saturday.

They escaped three-match bans but have been charged with improper conduct after clashing on their way off, forcing team-mates to intervene.

Bruce and Bywater have until 6pm on Wednesday to answer the charges.

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton said after the incident: "It was handbags. I think two yellow cards would have been the right decision."

so... does this mean he isnt banned now? and they've recalled nyatanga when they wont even need him? (N)
