    Fiver off tickets.

So 23 now 18 for adults

3 quid off under 12s and 4 off over 65s

Just thought it would spark a few arguments from those who are 'tory sided' etc

Persoanlly its a good one. If it gets extra through the gates

How many 12 year olds work for the council?

It's about time they did something like this, not sure how many people work for the council these days but even if it only gets a small percentage of people interested it could have a decent impact on gates.

I know loads of people at BMBC and it's various offshoots that were regulars at Oakwell in the past who have an encyclopedic knowledge of the club up to a point but then stopped going for whatever reason. Back it up with a monthly council-wide email with details of upcoming matches and reminders of the offer.

Should also look at other large employers within the town as well and push it with them as well.

The success of these schemes all depends on how we start the season - anything over 10 points out of the first 15 available and I don't think we'll have trouble getting people back interested again. Stuff the people who have never been interested in BFC or football, there are thousands upon thousands of people out there who used to love going to Oakwell but no longer do...those with the opportunity to get in for £18 surely can't grumble at that price. It was about that 10 ten years ago and not many people complained about it then and we were utter sh!te back then as well.

So people can get in for £18 purely by virtue of working for the council?

Already mentioned it to a couple of folk I know who work for the council who have got out the habit. Last year they said 20 quid should be the price. Now its 18 it raised their eyebrows so hopefully it gets them back

Makes no odds to me. Council have a vested interest in the success of the Club, we need more through the door and its still more than what I pay with my ST. Fine by me

Ask someone you know who works for them to see if they can get extra tickets. Must be able to if it includes over 65 and under 12...

Is this discount going to annoy non council workers? After all, the council employees do have a job and could afford £23 if they were interested enough to go.

At the same time though I would question how someone on jobseekers allowance/benefits could afford to go at all.

BMBC already have things in place with local businesses that offer discounts to staff such as gym memberships etc...

Why should you get in cheaper than someone else based purely on who you work for?

No problem to me, I am a season ticket holder. Just thought some non council employees might decide to say fukc it and not go on principle

doesnt bother me one bit as long as no offer is better than getting a season ticket (which averages around £14 a game) I don't mind what the club do to get fans thru the door

It does seem a tad unfair to offer an incentive like this to just one set of people. I like the idea in principle but it should be offered to more people than just council workers.
