First of all, it’s only 3 points and there’s a long way to go. Plenty of time for the rest of the contenders to have a mare. I was just about convincing myself that we had a good side, fit for the championship. I now know we haven’t and aren’t. That’s OK though, Collins has done wonders in a season and we probably need more time. We came upon a good side on their day. I haven’t noticed them thrashing five in every week, this performance is outstanding for them as well as dreadful for us. I wrote after Tuesday’s game that it was all about getting over the Bolton game and being ready for Lincoln. We didn’t and we weren’t. We now have two games against teams in the relegation zone and we need to make the most of it. We have no right to just turn up and expect to be given three points. We have to fight for it we are not good enough to take games for granted. We should thank Lincoln for the lesson they have given us and start to get some sweat on the shirt again.
We are not as good as we were last season. We lost two quality defenders and that wasn’t his fault. We are in the top six. I think that’s pretty good.
I'd say in with a chance of promotion after a team disbanded after a play off final, is far more than any of us expected. Most had us as mid table. And some as relegation fodder. Only 5 players on the pitch started today that played last season.
Three quality defenders, including Thomas. And we've also lost Norwood, who usually gave opposing defenders a very tough time.
