Can anyone suggest somewhere decent in Wakefield for a lunchtime/ afternoon bite to eat just before Christmas? Only a small group of us, don't want any riff raff, just a few beers and a good atmosphere.

    Cheers.

Red Kite just off J39 is pretty decent.

It's next to my work so I go quite a bit and would definitely recommend it.

I know the Red Kite. Nice place, but I think folks will want somewhere more central. (trains home).

Try Deli Central, on the Bullring for food, then Harrys Bar or The Hop, off Westgate, for beer on the way to the station

Cow Shed on Northgate near Bullring , then The Hop, Harrys both off West Gate near Westgate train station

Not that long a walk from Westgate down to Kirkgate, done it many a time after a works night out. Last train home is better on a Friday than a Saturday though.

Have they put any lighting up in Kirkgate yet though, rape central.
