Just bought a wireless router. The item delivered was French, with a French plug. No UK adapter came in the box with the product, but they did supply a UK style plug which you plug the french plug into. It's massive and bulky and if you ever lose or damage this adapter (the likes of which I've never seen before) the product is pretty useless - have you ever tried buying an adapter in this country for a US or European plug or while abroad you forgot you UK adapter and tried to get one -you can't buy them in the shops, I've been abroad and forgotten my adapter and every shop I went in just looked at me blankly (especially the states) and said no, you won't find one of them.
Rung them up to say I'm not happy and the product has not been supplied was not intended by the manufacturer for use in the UK and their modification isn't acceptable. Said I have to pay for the postage to send it back, and the attitude of their customer service was typically French - I could see their unconcerned shrug and self satisfied smile down the phone. When I pointed out they'd supplied a French product they just said "but we are a French company", the "I live in England with English plugs, and paid in pounds on a .co.uk website" meant nothing.
Just bought another D-Link product from a different website ... and that has come with a UK plug.
Checked my consumer rights, and I'm probably not protected, by UK law and the European laws are apparently "still indevelopement and some way behind where they should be".BUYER BEWARE
OhAND the USBs PCI card I sent had bent bits on - they want to take 14 days to do an"investigation" before they send my money back. They also want me to send picture of the damage - have you ever tried taking a photo of a damaged cuircuit box and and the clear plastic box to show the damage?
AND the other item I bought through them from a partner, was a complete joke and didn't match the desrption that they gave on the website of what it did.
GRRRRRR!!!!!

In the past The credit ard company have always told me to pursue it with the retailer and only if I don't get satisfaction will they sort it out.
Knowing that they do this the last thing I wanted to dispute I'd sent multiple letters to the company and got no reply and when I rang the credit card company they said sorry the time limit for disputes has passed - 90 days I think.
Pixmania will give me money back, but I'll ose my postage and even if the credit card company give me the transaction money back in full I won't get the cost of returning it to France with insurance.

Warranty indvalidated If it breaks they'll tell me to f off ... and if I want to buy ***** and modify it, I'd have sourced on from Hong Kong and got proper *****
Real issue is, three items on the order ... none of them I'd have picked up and taken to the counter if I'd have seen them in a shop on the highstreet - but this one they seem to think is acceptable.

You should've checked on here first My D-link DIR-655 router was delivered from Pixmania with a french plug on it. Luckily the router has a standard fitting so I just swiped one from somewhere else. They're renowned for it.
I bought a Creative MP3 player from them a few years ago and that came with a European plug, and NO adaptor. I weren't happy but I looked on eBay and found a small converter plug for about £3 delivered. The bonus of that was that when I did go abroad to charge the player I could just plug it directly into their sockets without and adaptors.
Just to annoy you more Just to annoy you more you could have bought a converter of them also http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/s_action/search/index.html
Is it a good router? That's exactly the one I was going to buy.
If I had my sensible head on I'd probably say ah well and work something out. They sent me three product, the router, a PCI card which had bent compnents, and a card reader that doesn't do what the website says it does - you'd have to see it to believe it.
I'm that p'd off with them and the whole order being crap and their attitude that I've got a one-back-all-back head on. I think I'd rather cost myself £10 than give these charlatans a penny of my money.

I looked that up ... and I'd have been happy with that BUT That's quite a tidy solution
http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/1502808/art/lindy/non-earthed-schuko-plug-c.html
if that's what your link was, nice tidy looks like a normal plug ... I'd be happy with that
Trouble is the plug for this router wouldn't fit into that adapter so they've sent me something that won't plug into the restricted socket I'm trying to use - clearly it's my fault for havingbought a house with a socket next to the telephone point which istoo close to the skirting boards. The plug unit along with the adapter they've sent must be a good 5 x 3 inches, it's a truely amazing contraption and just won't plug in where I NEED it to go.
The other two items on the order were garbage, which is what gets me really angry. One of them the description is creative to say the least, and the other is damaged. Angry keyboard thumping letter time.

You can use two pin plugs over here you just need to push a sharp metal** object into the earth slot at the top of the plug socket to open up the little windows which will alow you to insert the two pin plug.

**make sure you are standing in a bowl of water whilst taking this action.

Yes I primarily use it as a wired router so I can connect a few PC's a VOIP phone and a Diskstation. It supports jumbo frames which comes in handy. Wireless performance is OK but not as good as I was led to believe. I really wanted the DIR-855 for dual band wireless but couldn't find anybody selling it at the time.
