"I thoroughly enjoyed my two-and-a-half years as a player at Barnsley. So I'm pleased they're doing so well. It's a lovely little ground, with great supporters. They're my kind of people: it's a muck and nettles, mining, flat cap sort of area. They've got a fantastic home record, and were the only team, to take points off Ipswich at Portman Road. So it shows what a strong side they are. It's probably their best season since they were promoted to the Premiership. They've had the odd blemish, but on the whole they've been very consistent. They've always bounced back from defeat, which is the sign of a good side. They've signed a lot of foreign players, basically because they couldn't afford the English lads. And they've virtually all come off, which is why they are where they are. "I know they lost 4-1 to Coventry, but that was on the opening day of the season, and they've improved since then. Anyone watching us defend against Stoke would've thought we were a Sunday League team, but we've come a long way since then. I'm sure Barnsley have too." patronising tw*t...................it'll be fun to watch the shortar*e running up n down the line tommora shouting at the ref at al, even better if he gets bunged into the stands
That right there is the problem with the transfer market over here. Foreign players are way better value for money.
"They're my kind of people: it's a muck and nettles, mining, flat cap sort of area. " and "Lovely little ground" Good old Colin the sort of guy with a face you just want to punch
Paints the kind of (blatantly wrong) picture of Barnsley that the media and anybody from down south generally associate the town with. "I thoroughly enjoyed my two-and-a-half years as a player at Barnsley. So I'm pleased they're doing so well. It's a lovely little ground, with great supporters. They're my kind of people: it's a muck and nettles, mining, flat cap sort of area." I wonder if Mr Warnock has actually re-visited Barnsley (other than quick jaunts to Oakwell with his various teams) since he left the club in 1976 or whatever it was.
Colin ****** .... **** off .......... ..... "So I'm pleased they're doing so well. It's a lovely little ground, with great supporters. They're my kind of people: it's a muck and nettles, mining, flat cap sort of area" ........... You are NOT pleased we are doing well, you are a blunt It's not a little ground, it holds 23,000 We are great supporters only when we're winning, or playing the deedahs We aren't your kind of people, you are a blunt Muck or nettles - no idea about that???? There are no mines anymore thanks to M Thatcher There are very few flat caps these days ........ and you are a fecking deedah through and through, so save your breath for moaning about the pitch, weather, ball, referee and any penalties that we get or you don't get tomorrow you pillock
Me too Well, I wouldn't want to go out for a drink with him like, but he's definitely good at winding folk up.
I Like Warnock As Well Speaks his mind and is very entertaining. I plan on buying his autobiography at some point.
RE: I Like Warnock As Well So do I, he's a smashing fella, with a lovely tractor and he really helped to put Sheffield football on the "map". But I don't think he's managed to have a proper look round tarn for the past 30 years, mainly because of his busy schedule. Do you think Radio dee dah would repeat his old radio show if we unindated them with enough requests?
RE: I Like Warnock As Well I use to enjoy his christmas shows on radio Sheffield. I nominate Simon Davey to do them this year now that Colin is darn sarth.
Yeah I like him as well Good bloke as well, when I met him he seemed genuinly interested in Barnsley and wanted us to do well.
What I Don't Understand Is.......... why the blue half of my family hate him so much when he got the Terriers promoted back in the 1990s.
Can be a **** at times but good entertainment and certainly a character. This interview sums him up basically, all he wants to do is get us wound up.
Love him or Hate him No matter what you view of him - he made life more interesting when he was in charge of Sheff U - some of his post match interviews were quite entertaining one way or another. Whereas Robson - god what a yawn!
