"and now youngsters want to be Sheffield United supporters instead"

I'd rather stick a fork in my eye.

RE: "and now youngsters want to be Sheffield United supporters instead"

Had an interesting conversation with a neighbour the other day, he started off saying that he presumed I was looking forward to the new season. He then went on to say that he might go to a couple of games, years ago he started going to watch Leeds when they were successful but stopped going when Revie left, went to watch Barnsley a few years ago but he was considering going to watch Sheff Utd a few times this season so he could watch Premier league football!
I was set to poke him in the eye but just said that I couldn't go to watch anyone else and the aim for this season was consolidation.

Probably ties in with much of what Young Nudger says though - these fickle people who will flit from one team to another do exist.

    A point he makes

That it has taken them 7 years to do it. From a far stronger position than we are in at the moment.

Just in case anyone's going to get the face on if we don't go up this season.

Born and lived in Barnsley all there life
Well then, why do you watch Leeds?
Cos mi dad took me to see um when I was a kid

And another one bites the dust

wonder how interesting he thought it was ?

you must have a masters degree in stating the bleeding obvious and banality.
