He was being chased by Paul Hart, who had him in his academy team at Leeds United. He performed well at Bournemouth, mainly as substitute and then moved to Stockport in search of regular first team football. He scored well at Stockport. Big money transfer to Luton, but somehow has rarely made the starting eleven. I am not sure he fits the type of player we have been connected with - he is not a speed merchant like Kazim-Richards and not a tall and fast target man/striker like Leon Constantine. I can't quite see it, but Ritchie may know him from Leeds days and his record at Bournemouth and Stockport was good.

will be like signing a new striker, and have a feeling he'll be one of those more suited to Championship football and able to raise his game. we'd be better off looking at defensive cover, pacey full backs and a commanding centre half more useful right now than a 5th striker.

i really like hecky but fear he is a bit too slow for the championship. two pacey full backs would do us the world of good - we are constantly getting caught out on crosses which have been allowed to get in the box. i think we are OK at centre back - hassell, reid and kay are up to the job i reckon
