Like ritchie he didn't have plans to strengthen squad when cryne thought it needed it, the fact weve not signed anybody could point to this,
FFS, is this daft comment corner. Gray, Hammill, Halfredson, Preece, Sodje, Thompson - did you miss those signings??
i think he was sacked Because of the signings If i had shelled out for Hammill, id wanna know why he left him on the bench and played Macken wide right, and id also wanna know why there is very little cover in defence and loads of midfielders.... I think thats what did for him
Davey was sacked because he was'nt up to the job, a complete..... footballing ignoramus, he had all the badges but not 1 ounce of tactical awareness and he kept putting players out that can only run for 75 mins, he also alienated himself from the support, a total charisma bypass (Paul Hart's love child ), I am struggling to find a positive about the fella where football is concerned, a cheap option by Cryne that quite frankly has robbed us of two and half years of football, with the notable exceptions of Chelsea and Liverpool.
He was mutually put on the scrapheap because he failed to meet Patrick Cryne's three year remit, simple as. Task :- year 1 - save from relegation year 2 - consolidation year 3 - push for top half/play offs. Despite transforming playing staff we actually got :- year 1 - relegation dogfight year 2 - relegation dogfight year 3 - relegation dogfight. Despite all the spin, the bad luck and the wind, Mr. Davey was consistent in inconsistency. That's why he's gone. Sorry and all that - but he is ultimately responsible and has failed the investment and loyalty PC had given him.
He was given a fair crack of the whip in my opinion And did the bare minimum in terms of just keeping us up each year. If all I did in my job was the bare minimum I'd be disappointed and I'd probably be out of a job right now after the redundancies a few weeks ago.
