Could this be seen as a conflict of interest? I mean Suarez is worth at least £75 million in the current (ludicrous) market. One big tackle puts him out of the game.

I'd like to think that they are never under instructions to damage players.

If Suarez did get damaged I wouldn't have been shedding any tears that's for sure.

Well he certainly ducked out of a couple of tackles with him that I recalled. Then he nearly takes one blokes ankle off later in the game.

Certainly looked as if he was backing out of tackles with him. The one on the half way line before their 1st goal wouldn't have looked out of place in a girls u6 game.

On one hand if Gerrard took the opportunity to take man and ball heavily, there probably wouldn't be a threat from Suarez for the rest of the game. On the other hand the conversation at Anfield when Ugly Betty failed to get back on his feet for several months would have been quite interesting. Put it this way, personally I always feel that Gerrard has given more to his home town club, than he has to his country, and he has never been the player for England that he has been for Liverpool.
