Incredible atmosphere especially when surrounded by 50,000 extremely tense Brazilians. The reversed penalty decision was particularly entertaining. Brazil's quality showed through in the end, but they left big, big gaps at the back which a better side than Costa Rica would have exploited. One thing's for sure, if England do get them in the quarter final, I won't be remotely worried, notwithstanding the fact that some of their individual skills were absolutely sublime.
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone I think we can’t beat. That’s not to say I think we’ll win it but every team has massive weaknesses. Brazil are a team of 4-5 show ponies imho.
The longer this tournament goes on the more I am convinced that we're going to reach the quarter finals at least.
It's an extremely open tournament right now, which is fantastic. Very difficult to pick a winner as even the big boys all have some serious deficiencies. At the other end, no teams have really looked out of their depth at all, apart from Saudi Arabia and Argentina.
I'm still expecting those notoriously slow starters Italy to come from nowhere and win it. But assuming they don't I agree there are no really outstanding candidates showing so far, apart from the hosts who look like they will do better than even they anticipated . It is still very early though.
The Brazilian lass sitting next to my mate was stunning. However, for some bizarre reason she decided to go and get a hotdog right at the start of injury time! A genius decision. FYI at the Iran v Morocco match last week, we had a couple of Columbian girls sitting in front of us - one very dark and tanned, the other a redhead, both of them far more interesting than the game.
Wow, must have been an amazing experience. Certainly England look to be in with a chance. Only Spain & Croatia have really impressed me so far.
Incredible mate. Plus the whole city was full of Brazilians singing and dancing until the small hours of the morning. It was definitely a bit special.
Just landed in Nizhny Novgorod! Absolutely stiflingly hot here. Loads of Panama fans, very few of ours. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.
