We are not exactly cut adrift at the bottom of the league , plenty to play for I’m hopeful for a result on Wednesday, Derby are a bit of a car crash at the moment
3 unbeaten, 5 points from 9 including a draw against Leeds who beat us by two clear goals and a win against Birmingham who also beat us. Wish we were that car crash.
It's the most recent results that are relevant from a form point of view. Our opening day win makes our points total misleading.
Brentford had lost their last 3 without scoring prior to yesterday, and hadn't won at Oakwell in 15 years.
Not really we have 5 points , why would you ignore one of the best performances by a Reds team in many a year , it shows they are capable of competing . They are the youngest side in the league , consistency in performance is bound to be erratic, for 30 minutes we destroyed Brentford they didn’t get in our half , two of their goals would have been ruled out with VAR . Our naivety was trying to play on the floor in those second half conditions , Brentford were lifting the ball off the surface , we ,particularly Williams, tried to pass it on a sodden pitch resulting in giving the ball away constantly . The biggest criticism was for Cavare and Williams getting caught too far up the pitch and Cavare not busting a gut to get back , against Fulham he hardly came over the half way line and competed with one of the best players in the division on level terms in the second half of that game All is not lost yet , only 9 games gone , it’s going to be a Battling Barnsley season
That's only because Stoke and Huddersfield are in meltdown.. Both have far better squads than us. And if they manage to turn a corner then our true level will be revealed for all to see .
No it shows Fulham thought it would be a walk over and / or hadn't done their homework on us and were caught out and couldn't change tactics. We were very fortunate in the preseason games that we didn't concede a lot more goals than we did it was only poor finishing that prevented goals and yet 9 games in the glaring holes in the defence are still evident the players aren't learning by their mistakes they are just repeating them.
Don’t agree with that Fulham will have been professional and done their homework . Leeds we should have got at least a draw and we’re the better side against Forest . I’m not glossing over the results of Ful,LDS and Forest but the performances and commitment were there if the quality wasn’t . The mistakes are obviously a concern but imo more so the heads dropping .
To go back to tour original question...Yes he was sat in the old West stand under cover.. where I was sat in lower west stand open to the elements (still drying my clothes off)
We got offered a move upstairs cos of the cameras in West lower. My mate said that was thoughtful, I said it's not. It's because when we start cursing at how we are doing it will be live on sky
