seems a little odd that colgan is injured at the same time.
Colgan is injured and Johnson doesnt need to play reserve football to be fit

    Letheren was on the bench

As Davey knew that Muller might not last.

    OR

Wanted to give Letheren a game, but cup tie Muller at the same time?

    Our thoughts on that

At the start of the game I said that, given the rumours, it was good that Muller was playing.

However I did comment about the fact we'd named a sub goalie which he hadn't done recently.

The he subs Muller at half time, so we wondered if he wanted to give Letheran a run out but knew that if he left Muller out it would fuel speculation that he was leaving.

Or knew that Muller might not see out the game.

If it was just to give Letheran a run out then that is a bit of a waste of a substitution

Davy said in his post match interview that Muller was injured.

He said it was affecting his kicking, which was a bit dodgy to Day.

Seems odd to even have a reserve keeper on the bench anyway?

    Why?

Surely if you are taking a match seriously you should have back up on the bench.

In a league match you could probably cope if anything happens for the rest of the match but for a cup match you need cover as the money you could lose by having no cover is quite a lot for a team like Barnsley (and many others)

If Heinz was injured but wanted to see if he could play on then it made sense to have a goalkeeper as a sub .

Personally I would prefer to see a GK on the bench for every match, just in case.
