In my opinion he got a bunch of average players playing well together which got us promoted. He was at times too loyal to his own signings like Richards BUT he did get us promoted so he must have been doing something right.

Stick with him, he will need time to turn things around.

All of what you have mentioned sounds familiar.
He was a nice guy who fostered an unbelievable team spirit with a team of players who were, at best average, but they gelled and they did the business.
There is no comparison now when you compare him to Simon Davey - just look at us! 8th in the table and beating teams who have spent millions.
He is turning our club inside out, putting in a new infrastructure, new coaching techniques etc etc
He is one of the most highly qualified and well respected coaches in the country and has every coaching badge god created, which means nowt if he can't apply the theories - but he can.
I'll never forget Ritchie and what he did, but it was clear to us all, that once in the Champonship, he was clearly out of his depth and could not mix with the big boys.he relied on the same team spirit to keep us up and move us on, and for a while it worked.
Once the players realised that team spirit alone would not keep them up, it all went pear shaped and the rest is history.
He has his favourites as I am sure you will have found, he may do well for you if you give him the time to foster the kind of spirit he had a Barnsley with his players.
When you compare him now to Simon Davey, there is no comparison in my eyes.

Good luck.

Well , last season

When his team played Leeds United (puke) , it finished Barnsley 3 Leeds United 2 . I think you'd settle for something similar?

I hope he does well for you.
He was, on the whole, well respected and well liked by the Barnsley fans and the players loved him.
I was at the play off game at your place and for me, that was the best game of the season, we were the well underdogs, how we turned that around, I will never know, but I do know that Ritchie had a hell of a lot to do with that.
He needs time, the trouble is, Managers these days don't get time, instant results are what is required and if these are not forthcoming then that's it.
I really do hope he does well. It might be next season though before you see any impact.
Has Rick Holden returned to help him?

An average manager who was well out of his depth in the Championship.

If our present manager had been with us in League One I firmly believe we would not have been in the play offs.

We would have been automatically promoted.

We had a Ford Escort for a manager and now we have a Porsche 911.

Nice chap. Overloyalty was his downfall though. Great inspirator and builder of team spirit.

Had his faults , too loyal, but he got the team up without spending much money, which was a blessing, but also his downfall.
Likes to play head tennis during training sessions apparently, be aware of that, its a no-no.

You seem to have forgot that I said the head tennis session was the only time I saw AR doing anything which resembled coaching. I wasn't actually critical of that.

AR is history now move on.

Davey is a much better coach and manager than AR will ever be.
