Got a new washing machine today. the drainage hose pipe connection isnt as tight a fit as the one that I took off so there is a slight drip when the machine empties, is there a way to stop this, some sort of tape or something, or a new connection...alll help welcome.

Best off with a jubilee clip mate. Ptfe is ok but jubilee clips are more appropriate for the job.

A jubilee clip is a small metal ring that you tighten up with a screw driver, ditch the ptfe idea because its DIYish. Hope this helps

go with the ptfe method jubilee clips will bugger you up especially if you slip with the screwdriver and go straight through the pipe

PTFE tape and Jubilee Clips are for completely different purposes aren't they?

PTFE tape is good for wrapping around the threads of an inlet pipe which screws on, a jubilee clip is used for tightening up a push on pipe like an outlet pipe, you can't just go sticking PTFE tape around a pushfit pipe

all the washing machines ive had the drainage pipe hasnt been a push on its a direct connection done by manufacturer.

the other end just shoves into the waste pipe on the wall. a vertical that then runs to the horizontal and then outside

i always PTFE the screw on connections as do most professional plumbers.
