Bradford playing a 4 4 2. with Devante Cole up front for 60 mins, murdering Blunts and being 2-0 up. Blunts were playing a passing game from the back but were stifled by Bradford's high pressing. Adkins changed it going more direct. they 've pulled a goal back, an own goal caused by confusion of a long throw. Blunts looking right back in this game at the moment.
4-4-2 is a dinosaur formation so,I keep getting told on Twitter, we have to play this tippy tappy foreign bo//ocks now, it's the way forward or in Ben Pearsons world it's the way sideways
anyone remember the WM formation...Goalie,2Full backs, 2half backs, ONE centre half,2wingers,2 inside forwards and a centre forward...classic!
It was still popular in the late 60's early 70's...some of the half backs doubled up as centre halves I suppose...Bobby Moore started as a half back but is remembered as a Centre half.
I My point wasn't of preferring a particular formation, more to the point that to have the courage of your convictions and if it doesn't work out, then change it. We have the players in our squad to be effective in a number of formations.Let's not be scared or over-cautious to use all the weapons in our armoury. Forgot to add , I didn't see anything in that game that we should fear.
