And the pecker in charge is mincing about Stamford bridge and keeps pointing out the history of the clubs players etc. Bits about Osgood the old shed famous past players on a memorial wall and I thought how come there's no reference to the clubs history or the players we have except a bar named after the clubs tee total founder. You wouldn't think that there was an FA cup winning side players who were record breaking transfers players like glavin de zeuuw redders etc or the fact there is a bloke at oakwell who has seemingly worked at the club since it was founded. How hard would it be for the club to actually name a stand after preedy and to get something sorted to remember who the club were where we have come from so things are not forgotten rather than treating its life blood as a over milked cash cow
I have always thought that a stand or something should be used to name people who have been important to the club in the past, ie. Norman Rimmington and Jock Steel for their long and unswerving loyalty and service, Ernest Dennis for saving the club and starting a period that has seen our club '' punch above our weight '' for decades, Patrick Cryne for being our latest saviour, and of course The Rev. Preedy. Players come and go, some quicker than others, so naming stands after players isn't appropriate, but as you say a wall of fame for prominent players of the past would be good.
