We've looked as good as most teams in the championship this season ..... if not much better!

Fulham & Brighton apart who looked quality opposition (with hopefully the former getting promoted through the playoffs) I reckon we've made the step up division look easy ..... something everyone wouldn't have expected.

So whilst April & May 2017 won't be enjoyed in the celebratory fashion we experienced 12 months ago I think I may raise the odd beer or 2 on Saturday (before & after the game) to the players, manager and everyone involved with the super reds!

That's why it's a shame we gave the season up half way through. If we had kept the side together we'd have had a brilliant chance of the play offs for the reasons you mentioned. Huddersfield are running out of steam too.

I went to Ipswich on the opening day excited on the back of last season, but fully aware of the step up in quality.

Yeah we lost, but played just as well as we had done at the end of last season. It was very encouraging.

Unlike other seasons at this level, I think we've had parity in terms of possession and quality, and even after losing players we've been competitive if not as prolific.

All in all we haven't been out of our depth, have gained a few admirers along the way and will go to Newcastle on the last day with our heads held high.
