Watching Reading last night - how comfortable they looked when in front

  1. Going behind to a cracking free kick didn't seem to bother them at all and once in front they were so comfortable. When the third goal went in it there was still half an hour to play but there was no panic. Coventry seemed to accept the defeat and never looked like stepping up a gear to try to get something back, unlike Burnley at Oakwell last week.
I know Reading are a good, accomplished side but what struck me was how they just cruised ahead of the opposition and didn't look remotely like losing that lead. Be really nice if Barnsley could play like that once in a while. I suppose we did something similar to a very poor Charlton team at the end of last season but days like that come round once in a blue moon. Just a thought, not moaning.

...they did exactly the same against us at NP last week. We went in front twice and they just got on with it and scored within minutes each time.

They went down to 10 men and that didn't phase them either - in fact they were better with 10 than 11 and controlled the second half imo. We couldn't break them down and they were very dangerous on the break.

Didn't see the game last night but at ours James Harper ran the show in CM and Steve Hunt was just a complete and utter nuisance all night. Watch out for their No.14 (Kebe?) - would give Usain Bolt a run for his money!

  3. Steve Hunt stopped just short of a red card

Again, a sign of a class side and manager. He probably got some harsh words from the touchline and reigned himself in just enough to avoid a second booking. He is a hard player as well as a good one - every team needs one like that. I was praying he would make just one more rash challenge and get suspended for next Saturday but he let us down!
Must admit I fear for our chances in the next three games. A single point will probably be beyond us and we could easily slip back down to the bottom group again. Then again, this is Barnlsey we are talking about. :D
