There are two stations at Watford; the Town Centre Overground station with regular fast train into London; and the Underground station a couple of miles down the road which will obviously be out of bounds should the strike go ahead.
The overground station is big and the car park is huge - I park there a lot - but the locals tend to use it as the main car park for town centre shopping etc, so be aware it gets very busy.
Hope this helps.

according to beerintheevening website there are a couple of pubs on the route up to the stadium and its at our end of the ground so should be ok for a drink
I think on a Wednesday evening we'll be ok parking in town. I know on Saturdays it gets packed in town, but I'm hoping the town centre will be ok on a Weds evening. I would advise against the tube station on the metropolitan line as its a fair old trek to the ground and the last time I used that route I was late and missed the first two goals (we lost 4-0 that night).
I Wonder How Many............ Barnsley fans will be in Watford, a few days later for the league game.
