On TV clips after match he looked glum and rejected. Can understand why, he must be gutted at not being fetched on for 10 minutes. Think if we had pushed longer at 3-1 he would have been fetched on with Bree for last few minutes but not at 3-2
I think Heckys thinking was that he is going to be massive for us in the run in so no point risking it for 10-15 minutes as much as he's going to be annoyed at not playing at Wembley. If he gets fit and fires us some goals in then he will be starting in May with any luck.
That's one of the downsides of being a manager. It can't have been easy for Hecky leaving him out when he's been such an important and influential player but Hecky has to do what he thinks is best. With regards to the subs yesterday I think Hecky got it absolutely spot on.
It was a shame he did not get the chance to score at Wembley. There can't be many players who have scored at both Wembley & Hampden. Perhaps he will get a chance in May. I suppose someone will now contradict me by providing a long list of players who have scored at both stadia. Although I suspect most will be we're what were once called "Anglos". Scottish players plying their trade in the English leagues.
There'll be plenty of internationals who have scored at both venues e.g. Dennis Law and Allan Clarke for starters. If you mean solely for their League Clubs - Kenny Dalglish springs to mind.
Yes as soon as I posted I thought of England Scotland internationals plus Northern Irish and Welsh. I was not specifically thinking of club players, however, there would not be that many in this category.
