Had a pretty good game and was involved in most of our good moves moves Granted it was a shocking miss.
I agree, he did well. But then you choose to slate Winnall whose finish in the first half was superb.... very odd.
He's a weird one, he seems to do simple things poorly but he makes good runs with the ball. He's also involved in a lot of our goals, including today. I quite like him but I wish he had more confidence in front of goal.
So who was to blame for the opposition goals? Bit weird if folk are knocking our goalscorer and the bloke who assisted that goal. How were the defenders, and defensive midfielders?
If the only thing a forward does Is score then that's fine with me. Watkins missed a sitter and misplaced lots of passes that broke down attacking movements. I usually think he's a tidy enough player but not for me today
Think it's harsh. Winnall needs a player alongside. By the time he had one, he was knackered from doing the work of 2 men up front on his own. And then, when 6 fooot 4 Smith is on the pitch alongside Winnall, what do we do? Pump high balls up in the air - to Winnall! I'm not saying he had a fantastic game, but playing up front on your own against 3 defenders, is a damn sight harder than playing in a midfield of 5.
He put away superbly a chance laid for him on a plate when the Shrewsbury defence opened magically for him. By virtue of the play of another. That does not allow him to ignore the offside rule for the rest of the game. Perpetually to his team's detriment.
Though Watkins did well today, but that miss. No forward player should ever choose to pass at 6 yards out when a shot is on. Need to be ruthless.
Thought he was our best player today despite the fact he should have scored. Signing him has been one of the few things Johnson has got right so far.
Watkins was my man of the match. Looked like creating something everytime he got the ball and a bit of space. Like Crowley and Harris though, his decision making at times let's him down massively. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Watkins is tripe. He's not a winger and he's not a striker so god knows what he's supposed to be but whatever it is he's crap at it.
He had a bad 2 nd half . All his passes went astray . First half played well apart from scoring when he had the chances
As the post above says. He had a decent first half. Second half he was abysmal. Offered nothing more than an endurance athlete in a red shirt. Ran a lot. Zero product.
Aye, seen the goal on that highlights thing on channel 5. Clark was allowed to jog through unopposed for 50 yards. Same at Rochdale last week, their players waltzing through unchallenged. If Pearson isn't meant to stop that, why is he in the team because he offers little else.
