owen and rooney are england's top strike force and, after listening to rio yesterday, might encourage a less direct approach. he admitted that with a target like crouch it was the easy option to play it long. that causes us to chase the game and get tired. now, a more measured approach would mean that our midfield would be in the game more.
i still prefer our high tempo game though and feel that we can't win the world cup unless we play at pace.
so, team for tomorrow:
Robinson, Carragher, Terry, Ferdinand, Cole, Beckham, Lampard, Carrick, Cole, Owen and Rooney.
Gerrard and Crouch rested. Neville in if fit. Hargreaves sat on bench at all times. Walcott comes on if england winning by two. Crouch comes on in last twenty minutes if we need to change things and go for a goal.
