Plenty of doom and gloom on here about the quality of applicant we can attract but think about it objectively and we are not as bad as people my think: 1. Great ground and training facilities 2. Decent fan base. 2. Some money to spend, not millions but there is money available. 3. Good Chairman, Cryne always impresses me when he speaks and hopefully will do the same with a new manager. 4. The only way is up! It wouldnt take too much to get the fans back on board, a few wins, a side of players comitted to the cause to bring some pride back in our club. etc. People dont seem too happy about the possibility of Boothroyd, but I look at Stoke in the Prem with Pulis in charge. Not pretty at times, but you can't argue with the fact that they are competitive and get the reslts they need. I think we would all prefer that to nice football with no end product.
do you want barnsley to win or play pretty football and lose week in week out, be the darlings of the media by playing football the right way !! lets have a winning mentality again and not bothered how it comes
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of that style of football. But what I do want is a Barnsley side who when they pull on that shirt, play their hearts out and do us proud. With Wilson in charge (and maybe Hunter too) we had great football and great passion, but they dont come along very often. And look at that league table and tell me what our priorities are at moment.
In the position we're in, and have been in for the last few years, results have to be first priority, at least in the short term. Attractive, passing football can come later for me.
Yep totally agree we need points then attractive stuff at the end of the day the results will count that we won 1-0 rather than played well missed chances and lost 1-0,
