All these people who want Davey out must realise how lucky we are to be in the Championship. If we need to get to mid table we need bigger crowds than what we get. I think when we got to the Premiership was a bit of a fluke and it got alot of supporters expectations too high. We need to start to get behind everyone and be proud of the team we support
I am a proud Red.. But more people would come if we had decent performances, i came with high hopes of a victory and decent performance and then left feeling deflated again.. As we are in our 4th Season of the championship we should be consolidating and gradually moving forwards but, we are not its the same week in week out.
Neither are Burnley or Preston. Or Stoke. As for your comment about the Premiership being a fluke - that's probably the worst comment ever posted on this board.
TBH I don't think most fans really give a **** who the chairman or manager of this club is. But what they do want is to watch a half decent team put in a shift for 90mins. Then the fans will get be hind em, just sounding a rallying cry or a banner on the Ponty is a load of ******. Less spin and a bit more grit please...JMV
Not sure i agree with that. I think we have the players now to do much better - it's just poor tactics on the day, and possibly poor preparation. It's not about how many people are in the stands.
"If we need to get to mid table we need bigger crowds than what we get." We are getting bigger crowds now than we did for most of the promotion season, certainly more than we did the first half of that season.
RE: "A bit of a fluke"? Wasn't it one of the lowest points totals for a 2nd placed team? Of course, you just have to have 1 of the 2 highest totals of that season.
That simply means That more teams are evenly matched. Flukey means lucky, I don't see how winning automatic promotion can possibly be classed as lucky.
RE: I am a proud Red.. Same here, proud to follow the Reds since 1977, whoever is in charge I will back 100%. Some people may have their own opinions and I understand that we all cannot think the same, BUT all those fans that wanted Boggy to play, all the fans that wanted Hammill to play got their wish and what happened, absolute rubbish performance by every single player. Like I posted yesterday, I spoke to Steve Foster and after picking up the MOTM award he said no-one deserved it, they all let the manager and the fans down. Ok not everyone likes Davey but I would have him instead of a lot of bigger named managers. If Davey had the money to bring in class players and did so, fans would still moan, thats what we do best. So just back him and the team.
Great we will be safe this season then Scunny = 7352 Blackpool = 7698 Pikeys = 10,070 Peterborough = 10,747 Plymouth = 11,558 Barnsley = 12,552 So there were 5 sides with worse gates than us in the table out of 12 Matches and we had the 7th higest gate - so 14 place looks a good bet. That sounds like mid table is assured to me (even if you take out the 1008 coventry fans it makes no difference unless no one from QPR went to Plymouth.
You talk a load of Ballox Russky No-one is deluded enough to think we are a big club, well only in Dave Bassetts head anyway, if we should consider ourelves lucky to be in this division, you know the one where Barnsley have resided for more seasons than ANY other club, then we should padlock the gates of Oakwell and then bulldoze the fecking lot. Attitudes such as yours are the reason why Simon Davey still has the managers job, he has had more than enough time and money for signings, I think its about 50 players he has signed since he became manager, (I may be slightly out , but not far). This club of ours is a small town club, but in noway are we a small club. There have been darker times than now and Iam sure there will be more to come, but as to the coswallop about the flukey promotion, than I would only say that we were must have been the flikiest team ever, to go through a full season like we did. If thats flukey, then give me it every season, flukey football is a joy to watch and it was a pleasure to have been there and seen all those lucky matches where we flukily out played so-called BIG CLUBS . Anyway it all the fans fault especially mine .
Burnley and Preston had smaller average gates than us for most of last season, only increasing at the back end due to both being in the promotion shake up. Attendances are no excuse for being in the bottom 6 every single season.
Absolute babba There are a number of teams who have been in the Premier League a good few years who get smaller crowds than many Championship sides. Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan and Fulham to name a few.
Three of which have invested multi millions over the past ten years and none of which have been in administration. Not sure about Bolton. Also not a criticism of PC.
But... we have the potential to match those clubs at least. We only need to believe it rather than believe that us being in this division is a miracle.
