But we could meet them in the second round or the semis. I reckon we'd beat them. How sweet would it be for England to send them home?
Are you sure? I thought we could from the schedule at http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2006/schedule/default.stm If we both win our groups then they go via 2R1, QF1, SF1 and we go via 2R3, QF3, SF2.
We can't meet them in semis It's either 2nd round or we go into separate halves of the draw and we could then only meet in final. They've reverted back to the proper method where you have 2 completely separate halves to the draw after groups...also can't meet a team out of your group again unless both get to final. They messed about with it last time to keep Japan and Korea in their respective countries. No doubt you'll argue this one as well though! ff
You're right - YAY! I didn't follow the schedule properly. The two sides switch a match at QF level. That would be a dream final. 66 on our turf and 40 years later on theirs. Two world wars and two world cups - do dah! do dah!
if we finish top and they do - we'll meet in final that would be sweeeet. on penalties. yeah! from talking to germans they aren't confident - they say that their defence is pants.
RE: You're wrong. we could meet them in final easily if we oth win our groups and then every other match etc etc-trust me i looked we'd beat tehm easily too
