We desperately need a Left Back, Centre back, CM, Striker

Hopefully williamson will be the CM, any ideas on who the others maybe?

 

We've needed those players from the start of the season and in the loan window

everyone knew what positions needed to be strengthened from the start of this season and this is just another example of how Barnsley have failed to make the signings needed. I feel very worried about our chances of staying up because if GS thinks the sort of players that will keep us up are Grant McCann and Williamson he is very much mistaken. Williamson is, IMHO, an unproven league one player who might be good, but might not. We need proven, experienced championship players not youngsters, just don't think the club will spend the required funds on this, or even realise it's necessary.

Left winger
Striker

Keep the rest of the squad until the summer and then have a massive clear out
Williamson would be a great addition - but where would he play ??? - we have McCann, Howard and Togwell in the middle of midfield - And I wouldn't swap Togwell or Howard for Williamson and McCann has just come in
So why Williamson ???

I think priority has to be;

striker who can score
left back
center back
center mid
left wing
backup keeper

 

Howard leaving?

one of two possible reasons for trying to sign Williamson. I've been worried about Howard leaving for ages. He's the best player on the team and he is involved in all attacks and has been clearly missed in recent games. Wouldn't put it past Shep to sell another one of our best players in the interest of "financial security."

second reason: because of the offer which is apparently lower than has previously been declined it appears that it might be an offer which they know will probably be rejected but makes us think they are actually trying to strengthen the squad.

 

you lot dont understand

Its all very well banging on about the need for experienced proven championship players but how can this be achieved. If you are an experienced proven championship player why would you come to Barnsley.

We must have pay amongst the lowest wages in the league and are in a relegation fight. Why would you even bother. We have to look at either prem youngsters and top lg 1 players, there isnt much choice right now.
