We didn't 'collapse' on Saturday after they notched their 2nd

Coventry came out 2nd half and got into us. They took midfield and stopped us playing. They upped the physical side of the game and it worked. We couldn't find a response. Either cos we didn't have the players on the pitch or the nous on the bench to change our game to suit.

We'll have to learn quickly if this season is going to be any better than last.

But we've signed a lot of players.

    You're right

Just watched the highlights and the midfield was completely over run - what is gutting is that there is no chasing back, prime example ricketts for their 3rd.

Reid was easily beaten on the first two goals, whats more disturbing is the amount of free men in the box - Kyle is completely unmarked for the first, so even if Colgan had managed to save it , Kyle would probably have put the rebound in.

Only players for me on Saturday where Johnson until he ran out of steam and Odewotsit who when he came on showed more purpose and intent than anyone else on the pitch. And Togwell looked keen when he came on.

Thought Kozluk was appalling, Werling hasn't played football before and the rest were at best anonymous and Gordon Banks in 1966 would have struggled given the shambles that was in front of him.

Whether it was just one of those games, nerves or something more profound like the managers tactics or players ability we'll have to wait and see. The most worrying thing for me was the total lack of organisation. To say they've had a full pre-season they all looked like they'd never met each other before kick off.

Still, we've signed a lot of players.

"They upped the physical side of the game" - was that possible after the first half? Dirtiest team I've seen for ages and the ref allowed them to get away with it.

Reason we didn't create much - every time we got a break, they'd foul a player allowing them to get every one back, cynical in the extreme.

Yep the lack of organisation was a big worry for me. I'm going to reserve judgement obviously, but 4 or 5 performances like that in the next 10 games and i will be very worried. I appreciate it will take time for the team to gel but we can ill afford that. If we're bottom come November then it will be a huge struggle, as we know from last season.

That's true to an extent, they were pretty dirty but don't let that hide our weaknesses - I thought we were abysmal in the second half.

Kyle played exactly the game I expected from Ferenczi.

He was into our CH every challenge.

Didnt make his fouls "too big" unlike the moronic barges from Ferenczi.

I agree the ref should have booked Kyle as he gave at least 10 fouls against him, he didnt so we should have tried some of it ourselves.

He would have struggled with two eyes, let alone one! :D

would Heckingbottom or Ozzie have started on saturday?

over Dennis at LB - if so then we havce signed players no better than what we had. Why leave Werling on the bench when he is a natural LB????

Come on Davey - have you signed another mattis?

Ozzie at RB and Hecky at LB

Would both have performed better than the 2 that we selected. That said, Kozluk is way and above a better player than he showed on Saturday.

But yes, what's point of signing players if they aren't any better than what we have/got rid of ?

Why leave Werling on the bench when he is a natural left back?

Did you see him when he came on?
