This has now gone for the last two seasons. We DREW loads of games at the end of last season - mainly because Mr Ritchie wasn't prepared to gamble for a win. In most of those games, the opposition was quite happy with a draw also - so no damage done. We got promoted after all! This season, the opposition do not look as though they are happy with a draw in the closing stages. Luton pressed during the last ten minutes (and forced a goalkeeping error). Sheffield Weds (although not a good team), pressed at the end of the match and got an "undeserved win". Plymouth did the same last night and almost got a win. In all of these games, we have looked happy to take a draw in the closing stages. Against Plymouth, Mr Ritchie did NOTHING to try and win the game late on. Sort it Andy, or we will lose more than we win. I came away frustratred, despite having seen a decent display and a very entertaining match.
eh ??? so to replace your front 2 with stikers is not trying to win the game? He could have put healy on instead to enhance the midfield.
You are entitled to your opinion and most of your points are correct BUT last night I thought for the first time Ritchie did try and go for a win by sticking on two fresh strikers and leaving on the two attacking wingers and Howard. More often than not he subs a forward or a winger to put Healy on and we defend for the last 10 mins or so. To say he did nothing last night to win is IMO wrong!!!!
Didn't change the tactics and brought on two forward players instead of Healy, what is wrong with that??? Is that negative tactics??? Think AR did all that he could in that aspect. In injury time, Williams was abit slow with taking a couple of free kicks.
Giving Nads and Wright 10 minutes at the end of the game smacks of desperation not good tactical planning. They need at least 20 minutes to give them a chance of sussing out the opposition. Why did Ritchie wait so long to get them on or was he waiting for Holden to tell him?
Holden post match admitted......... with hindsight they should have given Wright and Nardiello longer
It would take at least 10 mins for them to get warmed up to the pace of the game. They need a minimum of 20 mins, preferably 30 to be able to make an impact. If only on for 10 mins then at least one of the original strikers should stay on.
That's correct Hello, Nothing changed as a result of the switch. The ball was STILL down the wrong end of the field (in our own penalty area). Not sure how we are going to score from there? Last ten minutes, at least try and get the ball hoisted into the opponentts penalty area.
RE: That's correct Whoa , just a minute there were 10 thingies on the pitch in a natty dark green kit who didn't let the what'sits in the red garb get the sphere anywhere near their stringy type attachment between those postie things.
I don't know if the chrome domed one could have done owt about that..
... er what the **** am I on about, I have the writing style of a young Tolkien... well not really.. in fact not at all.. in fact it's crap
Sorry I'll go away now.
