Pretend a player is injured when they're not......Check
Play a couple of players out of position because you've put together an imbalanced squad.....Check
Three strikers on the bench.....Check
Put three up front when you go behind because you haven't a clue what else to do despite the fact that this tactic never works.....Check

And it looks like we can add a new one. Totally fail to realise that your £1 million striker has lost his head and his sending off is not just likely it's inevitable......Check

Not that much between the sides but we'll come up against a lot better, so it's very important to win games like these. We didn't really look like doing that. In my opinion we'll continue to struggle as long as we keep having players out of position.

Hassel played left back at times and then he seemed to forget he had started there and reverted to midfield.
.
For me Teale made a good start for his first game

I thought Teale was poor

ran around and got into good positions but his final ball was poor. Still not sure if the setup for Howards goal was a deliberate pull back or another mishit shot

I thought first 20 mins when we played through midfield

and got Leon on the ball we looked very good. Quality goal and I think overall we shaded the first half. Second half... oh dearie me... it's got to be some of the worst defending I've seen at Oakwell for a long time, Souza and Moore as a pairing are far too slow, Steele didn't know whether to come or not for the ball, we had two right footed players on the left hand side against one of the best wingers in the championship... I'm not having a go at either disco or hassell, also my man of the match Jay Tabb ran the midfield and in my opinion in the second half gave a master class in how to play that position. Howard ? great goal but had to get so involved in the defensive areas that he couldn't play at his best. Hume.... well I agree with Jay, he should have been replaced as he was flying in for challenges after being booked.

However look at the players Cov have,

Mifsud, Tabb, Morrison, Eastwood and when they subbed, it was McKenzie.... our subs ? KO and the unproven Dutch laddie. Silk purse and sow's ear comes to mind.

Overall... play as we did first half we'll be ok, play as we did in the second, we're doomed!!!!! But there's 44 more games to play.

Yup, that sums up my feelings too

Jay was shouting at Davey to get Hume substituted for about ten minutes, "For God's sake Davey, get Hume off! Can't you see he's lost his head?". Unfortunately, Mr Davey couldn't and the inevitable happened.

yes JLWBigLil and Jay, I was saying the same thing to the guys around me. They too agreed. Hume needed help, he had lost it but, when you have a bleeding manager who
has also lost it the outcome was going to be inevitable.

Teale was absolutely awful

Maybe that sounds harsh as he did set up Howard's goal, but his other 15 crosses were shocking. Terrible debut.

yes, hassell was left back. Souza who has experience at left back was in central defence

and foster who is a central defender was at right back.

Lets take a look at this.

Souza: Central defence and experience as left back
Moore: centre back
foster: centre back with experience at right back
hassell: right back with experience at centre back.

Now for me that defence picks itself.

Hassell - Foster - Moore - Souza

Right back, centre, centre, experience at left back.

but oh no, not davey.

foster - moore - souza - hassell

centre, centre , centre (experience at left), right.

Excellent.

Togwell on the right of midfield would have been more effective

but we got rid of him

It seemed a fairly obvious decision to make

I assume Hume will now miss the Birmingham, Derby & Blackpool games. We'll probably see Hassell playing up front alongside Macken at St. Andrews!

logical

I blame the manager who picked the wrong starting 11 (of players signed by him) and then made tactical errors during the game.

You blame me.
