We had maybe the best midfield in this league.

What do we do buy 3 midfielders and let our top asset, our top scorer and our most creative player go?

    No we didn't

We have a midfield which have been directionless. There is no leadership in the middle of the park and I feel that Wallwork will provide just that.

There is no way we had the best midfield in this league

Going forward, maybe. But we had three attacking players there, and that's a lot of the reason we conceded so many. If you looked you could always see a huge gap between the defence and midfield.

    Complete and utter tosh

Possibly the best midfield in the division my arse.

Defensively very poor. Going forward, pretty good. You haven't even seen this Kyel reid play yet, and your already assuming he's not as good as McIndoe. FFS. We also have Wallwork now who is supposed to be one of the best holding midfielders in this league. For me, our midfield could possibly be stronger rather than weaker.

Not being funny mate but I wouldn't rate Barnsleys midfield anywhere close to being the best in the division.

    Bottom 2

    As per our league position.

For me we could have left the midfield alone apart from bringing in one player i.e. Wallwork to give competition for places. In the middle I thought Howard and Togwell were both playing well and it would be unfair to drop either.
Our priorities in my opinion should have been a left back a centre half and a goalkeeper.

Put in perspective, yes. Reason may be that you seem very capable of scoring but more likely to concede goals.

To accommodate an attacking midfield you need a sound defence and preferably a midfield that will work its socks off to help out at the back as well.

Must be like watching Ardiles' Spurs!
