Saw him play for Newell Old Boys a few years ago and he was one of the best players on the pitch.

But that was probably his one good game for them!!!!!

I remember that...the BBC south america football guru

said he was a poor passer and not a patch on Masherano. he also said his agent was desperate to find him a european club. could be a case of them seeing Davey coming. Hope he's good though.

He was captain of the Argie u21's so he can't be as bad as that BBC bloke made out. A 21 year old who is good enough to be captain surely can't lose that in such a short space of time. Or maybe they can? Find out tomorrow, hopefully? At least it will be a midfielder playing in midfield.

    Having seen him at Buxton...

I could see him sitting just in front of the back four with Da Silva in the play maker role.

I heard that its down to

the fact that his club in Argentina have said he was not able to go on a free transfer , but his agent and the player say he was. I reckon someone at Barnsley ought to have checked this out before we signed him . If he is as good as he has been touted, then we should pay them a few quid and get it sorted.

I don't think Howard will be with when that happens.

I dont think you can really judge him until he has played a few games at this standard.I bought his yellow shirt that he wore for that York game, so I 'm hoping he becomes an Oakwell legend.
