Can't spell, what an utter disgrace, in the letter he sent to Mrs Janes re the loss of her son. My 7 year old Granddaughter would have not made them mistakes.
He's a very busy man... ... who graciously took the time to write a personal reply, rather than passing it to some flunky to type a third party response.
It may well have been someone else who gave him the wrong name details in the first place. Some of the writing looks more like one letter running into another, rather than actual spelling mistakes.
I'm not a Gordon fan, but cut the bloke a bit of chuffing slack for once. Not many people in his position would have done that.

Another good point, well made Just what my and the missus were saying this morning. It could have been an aide that gav him the wrong name, also all I've heard is the name was mis-spelled, but I've not heard how....perhaps it's just the way he spells a particular letter that looks like somthing else...e.g a "m" looking like a "n" If he'd have typed it he'd have got criticism for being impersonal and that he was just signing letters typed up for him. Seems at the moment that no matter what he does people are just out to criticise him. It was also mentioned that he didn't bow at the cenotaph yesterday - well I watched the ceremony and it seemed to me he did.
RE: Another good point, well made Murdoch and the media barons want The Eton Mess Party in, might as well not bother with an election
When ze seagulls follow ze trawler Press non story. Brown ought to be applauded for personally writing to them. All he is guilty of is poor handwriting, hardly a birching offence.
Apparently he called Mrs Janes, "Mrs James" - oh aye....I bet that's never happened to her before! Anyway, he's only got 1 good eye, where are all the folks having a go at her for criticising the handwriting of a man who's half-blind?
