According to sheffield star. Unless they are all from people with a copy of FM09, then we would be stupid to rush into any appointment. No time to bring any players in before deadline, and no game for 2 weeks, so lets look properly at who's available. And be pro-active, is there anybody who hasn't applied, but we fancy going after, making a call can't hurt.
People have mentioned O'Driscoll, saying he would come here. Which may or may not be right. But there is no way Ryan would give us permission to speak to him. He hates us, and always go's on about them being bigger and better than us. There is no chance he would give up his manager to us, no matter what we said, he has to prove they are bigger. Would be fun to get him though!
I heard a rumour of adkins yesterday, which would fit in with the young/in a job rumour. And we could do worse. Again its hard to see why any decent manager of a championship team would jump to us in the same league.

Last paragraph compared to Scunnie, the job at Barnsley would be very attractive in my opinion. Better stadium, bigger fan base, a core of Championship players. However Adkins strikes me as the loyal type as the club showed him when they were relegated last time.

RE: Last paragraph I can see all the stuff about better history (sound like wednesday though?), better stadium and facilities etc. But for me, they have already started building their own team. Why would they dump that, for a squad which has struggled for last few years, and is already bottom of the table? I just find it hard to think anybody already in this league would jump to us.
RE: Last paragraph It will come down to money if we go for someone already in a job. It goes without saying no one is going to move on the same or less money that they are already being paid. I think we should be able to pay more than Scunny and Rotherham (I know...I sound like a Wednesday fan )
