....which by any recent measure for us is something decent. With us fielding apparently the youngest team in the country. Yet we have so many on here moaning and groaning. There are many on here who wouldn't be content unless at 5.15 p.m. we'd won (full stop) plus the club had managed to arrange 10 free pints of lager and a busty blonde in their bed. Every team in this league is trying to secure this (lager and blonde excepted). We have no divine right to win. All we have is a divine right to comment on the performance if we went, and the result if we didn't. With some sort of perspective please.
Spot on. Thing is, Blackpool were much 'vvanker' opposition than Rochdale were. They were there for the taking in the first half and we didn't capitalise. Second half we looked clueless going forward.
We played at the pace of a pre-season friendly after we scored, Blackpool looked totally disinterested at the start.
Alternatively we threw away a lead against a team who are rooted to the foot of the table and haven't come from a goal down to salvage a point since February, having taken a point when faced with a 1-0 deficit only 3 times in 12 months. I've not been today so looking at the result in isolation it has to be seen as an extremely poor result against terrible opposition.
Just what he says we lacked the final ball Pearson was poor and Harris was a prime example of no end product rolf would have been more effective on the wing
TBH I don't think the 'moans' have been about the Blackpool game in particular, more about the game being symptomatic of our season so fa ,too often ponderous going forward and unable to create and take enough chances to win games because of our over cautious approach to games, which is what a lot of Oldham fans said we would get. Now that is a worry if he's not likely to change
We're in league one now with one of the biggest budgets, we've got a manager who's told all the fans that nearly all his signings were chased by championship clubs so it's only natural that our fans expect us to be at the top end of the league & playing entertaining football. The young team bit is nonsense. If he'd took over half way through a season then fair enough but he's chose to go with a team of kids, so no way should people be using that as an excuse especially when a few of them are other clubs kids who we get no long term gain from
