We are all peed off with results. Recent statistics are really bad. However, I think there are some positive signs (and we all look for those surely). The last positive sign for me was the Cardiff game. We lost yet again of course and in the first half I thought the team looked nervous at the back but for long periods of the game the Reds were the better team in my opinion. The defence coped with Cardiff better as the game wore on and for most of the game Cardiff were made to look average and devoid of ideas. We played better than they did.... It was when we attacked that we looked weakest on Saturday and the inability to score ultimately had an effect on the defence which conceded the goal. I'm sure the manager is looking to the attack and working on it. I also thought Nouble had his best game for us. Yes he didnt score obviously but his all round play was better. Lazarus also showed some promise without finding the end product and the experience will do him good. perkins is also starting to get into things more again I was completely fed up on Saturday because we lost again, but for me, to play better than big-spending Cardiff for long periods is an encouraging thing to take out of the game. Come the pre-season I'm confident Hill will be able to strengthen the squad by picking up bargains that other clubs are forced to release because they are in financial trouble. The future isnt as gloomy as the present in my opinion. I'll be renewing my season ticket
Like the look of Goldbourne and Collins , Cotterill can do a job. Perkins and Doyle did well on Saturday - we have some good players but we all know what areas need strengthening
we all have our opinions... I dont feel as though we can feel anything like a settled side at the moment either. That doesnt help team cohesion
thats one of the best and fairest summaries for a long while on here, well done although we havn't got much going forward at the moment we limited cardiff to very few chances by sacrificing what little attacking flair we had, which sadly a lot don't give credit for
We limited them to a few chances and they scored from the best one and we were never going to score in a million years. What should we be giving credit for exactly. Well done for not losing 5-0 lads.
for matching a side thats spent about 10 times more than barnsley's got, for limiting their alleged superiority. for matching them in almost every dept apart from scoring. for coming back with a bit of dignity from a thumping at home. having said all that i don't expect any credit for our team from you after most of your posts this season.
the return of david perkins makes the difference. a guy near me slates him for 90 minutes when he plays, but we've missed him. you don't notice him much when he plays, but we sure as hell notice when he's not there. the team needs some flair, a winger a striker and a creative midfielder. just don't look in the top 2 divisions because we won't be signing them from there.
